Republic of Vietnam Staff Service 1C Medal

History - Established 1964

The Republic of Vietnam Staff Service 1C Medal honors military members who carried out noteworthy service while assigned to a Vietnamese command. The award is issued at the 1C level for officers and the 2C officer for enlisted members.

The former Republic of South Vietnam created a series of awards to honor military members and civilians who carried out service on behalf of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War and related operations between 1949 and 1974. As the nation no longer exists, the awards are considered obsolete.

Details

The medal is gold and in the shape of a diamond with a diamond on each tip and a sword and spear crossed behind it; in the center appears a blue diamond and an anchor crossed by guns.. The ribbon is white with four diagonal red stripes and green edging.
